BEYOND THE USUAL vitriol or stream of “_____ sent me here” comments on YouTube, you’ll find many comments that may surprise you with their level of depth and wistfulness. If you look hard enough, that is.
Sad YouTube is a Tumblr dedicated to compiling and celebrating “moments of melancholy, sadness and saudade from the lives of strangers, gleaned from the unfairly maligned ocean of YouTube comments.”
And it’s kind of brilliant.
The vast majority of the comments are compiled from videos of old songs, which only makes them more poignant.
Some are heartbreaking:
Some deal with mortality.
Some are very real.
Some rage against the passage of time.
And some are just plain lovely.
